Welcome to the Lonely Grape – Wineries and Wines of the Mclaren Vale region from South Australia. After my family coming first, I am a very passionate Mclaren Vale wine and food person that lives in “The Vale” and the blog is here to assist you the wine enthusiast and/or the Vale visitor with information – not just winery information, but places that will be good for families etc. The information is relatively easy to collect as I am a passionate McLaren Vale food and wine person and in the last year have visited about 59 of the 62 Cellar Doors in the McLaren Vale wine area. By the way, I intend to visit the remainder of the Mclaren Vale winery cellar doors (and of course write a blog entry about them) in the coming weeks..
My blog is just to provide interested people with information about the wineries that may help them when visiting the area or working out their next purchase.
If there is any assistance I can provide you please do not hesitate to ask using the comment section on the blog or via my contact details.
Any questions or feedback contact me on:-
Have a great day.

Dear Shane,
I am a french student in international trade and I have to do a work placement abroad during about 2 months to do convassing (find and develop customer’s loyalty) and other tasks to discover trade. I really want to discover the wine sector because I conseder the possibility of entering an oenology school. That is why I think it could be a good idea to do this work placement in a wine company in Australia, a country I really want to discover. But after a lot of mails sent, I have some difficulties to find one, do you know some companies which could be looking for a student like me ?
Your blog is good !
All the best
Mathilde
Hi
There was anarticle in a caravan magazine recently that mentioned “Grey Nomad” wines. Is this one of your brands. If so, can you tell me any more ?
Thanks, Richard
Richard,
thanks for the inquiry. The Grey Nomad label is from Pirramimma. Their web site showing this range is http://www.pirramimma.com.au/Cellar%20Door%20Order%20Form.pdf
It’s a tough job you have buddy! We love your work over at McLaren Vale Wedding Expo. Have you heard of Caught REDHanded Wines? Phil is from Sellicks and in his first year producing he got a 94 from James Halliday for one of his wines and excellent ratings on the others – check out his website http://www.caughtredhanded.com.au he currently resides in Melbourne for family reasons but I’d be happy to put you in touch if you’d like to review his wines. Just drop me an email I believe you will see it with this post in admin view?
Thanks guys, yes I know Phil. We met a few times before he went to Victoria. His 2008 Shiraz is on sale on my updated site.

Do you sell the good doctors tonic? Thanks
Rosa,
The Good Doctors Tonic is not something I have sold in the past but I can. If you tell me what vintages and how many bottles you are looking for then I can investigate for you.
Thanks
