Who said you could not make a good Cabernet in 2011? This one was so well looked after that the winemaker basically slept with the wine during vintage.

A new name on the McLaren Vale wine scene and based on this effort they will be around for quite a while. This wine made the cut for the Scarce Earth Project Shiraz and is one of my favorites.
Famous name but not many know the brand. Check out my thoughts on this wonderfully soft McLaren Vale red wine.
Two Gruners from the Geoff Hardy stable. Same variety, same vineyard, same winemaker but 2 very different wines.
Another value offering from Possums Wines….
A new face for an old winery. These guys still over deliver and continue to be little known. With wines like this they will not be unknown for long.
Wow – what a wonderfully complex wine. This is a wine label I am going to keep an eye on after trying this.
Such an interesting variety from an interesting producer. Tannat is all about strength and it is here in spades. The depth of grape tannins this variety is known for jumps out at you, but this wine is so much more than tannin. Check out my thoughts….
I was not expecting a Vermentino with oak treatment and lees stirring. I was also not expecting such a complex and refreshing wine that just screams out for grilled sardines.
Well done to the Geoff Hardy team. This McLaren Vale Shiraz shows all the aspects of a good McLaren Vale Shiraz from a difficult vintage.
